Southeast Kansas has a way of surprising you and this corner of the state turned out to be one of the most fun weekend getaways we’ve had. There’s real history here, genuinely good food, and some weird and wonderful attractions.

At only 13 miles long, Southeast Kansas doesn’t get nearly enough credit on the Route 66 conversation. But that’s exactly what makes it special. It’s compact, it’s weird, it’s kitschy, and you can drive the whole thing in a day.
