Miners Hall Museum program focuses on West Mineral Mining History – May 19

Join us this Sunday, May 19 at 2 pm for this special program being presented in conjunction with the quarterly exhibit “SE Kansas Coal Camp – West Mineral”, which is on display through June 23, 2024.   Doors open at 1:30 and admission is free. After the program you will have the opportunity to view the current exhibit.

Our presenters of this program are Jimmie Lovell and Carmen Boccia. This program will focus on Shaft mining to Strip mining and the Big Brutus Mining Museum. However, both of these gentleman have a tremendous amount of local and mining history and are sure to be entertaining.

Miners Hall Museum is located at 701 S. Broadway, Franklin Kansas on Business 69 Highway.  Open Monday through Saturday 10am-4pm.  Admission to the museum and all programs associated with this exhibit are free to the public. We recommend calling if you plan to attend so we can arrange for adequate seating.

Miners Hall Museum is dedicated to preserving and sharing Southeast Kansas coal mining history and its diverse immigrant culture.
