Pittsburg Arts Council presents Fall ArtWalk 2023
The Pittsburg Arts Council is thrilled to announce our biannual flagship event: Pittsburg ArtWalk! Mark your calendars for Friday, September 29, 2023 from 5-9pm, and join us in the enchanting Pittsburg Arts District right in the heart of Downtown Pittsburg, Kansas.
We’re turning up the volume with nearly 100 participants ready to dazzle you! Picture this: over 60 amazing artists; not one, but 3 stages rocking out with 10 sensational musical acts; 14 non-profit organizations; and 20 local vendors! The best way to show your love for these fantastic artists? Cash, baby! Buy their fantastic creations or, if you can’t resist the urge to support the arts, consider a cash donation. Every dollar fuels their artistic passions!
Hold onto your hats because we’ve got an exciting addition this fall – The Kidz Zone! Watch in awe as five young, budding creatives showcase and sell their masterpieces in the Block 22 Courtyard during the event. Who says the love for art has an age limit? Let’s inspire these little talents and show them how Pittsburg rallies behind the arts!
But wait, there’s more! Don’t miss the Poetry and Fiction Reading at TJ Lelands from 5:30 to 8:00. While you’re there, be sure to try the ArtWalk’s signature drink – The Bad Mother Clucker!
Speaking of boozy bevvies, check out our common consumption champions: TJ Lelands, TOAST, Opie’s, Brick + Mortar, and The Pitt. Just make sure you’re sporting that coveted wristband accessory and stay within the art-filled boundaries of the ArtWalk!
Brace yourselves for even more awesomeness. The SEK Humane Society, Pittsburg Public Library, Guardians of the Children, and a host of other local not-for-profit superheroes will be on-site, ready to engage our youngest art enthusiasts with captivating activities.
And what’s an artsy adventure without a feast for your taste buds? Get ready for a food truck fiesta, offering everything from mouth watering street tacos to creamy mac and cheese and delightful snow cones. Local businesses will also be there, lending their support to the artistic spirit of our community and offering entertaining art projects for the kids.
But the party doesn’t stop there! Four incredible bands will be jamming at the Main Stage, a.k.a. The Waterfall Music Hall in Europe Park. Over at the 6th Street Performance Stage, expect a mesmerizing showcase of dance numbers, tantalizing show teasers, infectious music, and a performance that’ll ignite your creative fire! Find your way into our stage in the TOAST lounge to enjoy some heartfelt tunes and toe-tapping rhythms.
